This summer Kaci and I cruised around in style... in a convertible. Or at least that's what we called it! We went everywhere together. The parkway, the swimming pool, the store... we rode on the bike A LOT! It looks like she is a little smashed, we need to get an extender to give her more space, but she really enjoyed the bike rides. I'm going to miss that bike, but hopefully we can get another one in VA!!

The Great Salt Lake take 2
We went to the Great Salt Lake again. The Hebners loved it! They really enjoyed the floating sensation. We floated for a really long time. We took the canoe this time too, and that was fun.
We got a little crazy and did a little "stink"chronized swimming. It was pretty amazing, we're a pretty talented. I think you'll enjoy our video!
Kaci Knows How to Party!!
Kaci asked GG to take her to a water park to celebrate her birthday. We went to Raging Waters in Salt Lake. We had a lot of fun! We played on so many fun water slides and Kaci had a lot of fun in all the kiddie pools. We ate a yummy lunch and Kaci enjoyed her chicken. All in all, Kaci knows how to party! Thanks GG for taking us to the water park!
Birthday Girl Pictures
Kaci was an absolute doll opening presents. She'd unwrap one, hold it up, and then play with it. I've never had so much fun watching a lil one open presents. She was so much fun. She got a ton of super fun stuff! Thanks for all the sweet stuff!
She also had chocolate for the FIRST time! I made her a chocolate haupia cream pie. Papa Call helped her dig in. She ended up having a lot of family there for it all. Mama Verdi, GG, Nacho, and Krys all came up from Arizona and Papa Call, Lynda, and Hayley were able to make it too. It was great to have so much family there for her 1st birthday.

uh oh
Kaci is starting to try and mimic things I say. The most noticeable things she says are "uh oh" "up" "mama" and the classic "Verda screech"!
tongue clicking fun
Her latest trick, she normally does it when she wants something we are eating, but her cousins were doing it for fun tonight, so she joined in!
Getting Tubed!
Stress is a funny thing. Perhaps the word "stress" would not exist "if every body had an ocean... across the USA... then every body go surfing... surfing USA!"
Brad got an Indo Board for father's day and he uses it to appease the need to surf. The other day, his anxiety level got so high, grabbed his board and turned on Surf's Up to the sweet surf scene. When that still wasn't enough, he filled up the kiddie pool, turned on the sprinkler and indo boarded there. Then, he asked me to spray him with the hose so he could get tubed. Poor guy!

Payson Lakes
The Call family tradition is to go to Payson Lakes and camp each summer. They've done it FOREVER and continue to do it. Each year is memorable. This year was the first year all four Call kids have been together since like 1998. Here's the rundown: Spend all week prior to camping making cookies, planning the food, and telling stories of previous years. Load up the truck with the canoe and make sure you don't forget ANYTHING AT ALL! Drive for an hour to get there. Unload everything, partially set up camp, hurry and put on your swim suits and play at the lake. Come back to camp, eat a sugary snack, try to eat dinner, eat some more sugary snacks, play games, put on the jammies, roast mallows, try to sleep, wake up, eat a big ol' breakfast, partially tear down camp, put your swim suits back on, play all day, eat lunch, finish tearing down camp, grab a snack, and head back home. WHEW! I'm still exhausted from all that. Special to this year is: the forgotten oars for the canoe, the forgotten utensils to eat all the yummy food with, tons of loose dirt at the campsite, and 3 babies... now that's what I call a fabuloso camping trip!!
A few pictures capture the ambiance of the trip!
There's a deer in the thicket... I promise!

Kaci ready to go swimming and actually wearing her hat!

Bryan Scott being the motor for the canoe with out oars. When he got tired we used Frisbees to propel the canoe!

All the adults gearing up for a swim across the lake. The water was freezing, but since the pier was closed off, this had to be done to replace jumping off of it.

Kaci trying on the unicorn look, pretty fancy stuff!

just her
This is Kaci in her natural element, just doing her thing. She is too funny. She never saw the camera, so you can believe she's not putting on a show.
Fourth of July Fun
We went to a really fun place for the 4th. Nancy got us in for super cheap ($3 a person)!
We rode water slides, bounced around on bounce houses, climbed through a super fun play place, played laser tag, and we could have skated if we wanted to. And I'm not talking about just the kids, the adults could play too. We had a blast! The place is in Sandy, and it is worth every penny you pay!

We also had a yummy BBQ with my traditional fruit salad in a watermelon, potato salad, corn on the cob, hamburgers, and chips. I'm telling you it was delicious! After dinner we had a our little fireworks show and Kaci joined in on the fun. I tried to explain to her that drugs are for thugs, but she wanted to take a puff anyway....

just kidding, she got a big wiff of the smoke from the sparkeler. She loved waving it around.
Last but not least Brad and I went to Ensign Peak to watch the fireworks go off all over the valley. It was fun. I'm glad I got to go to Ensign Peak. That's where the pioneers surveyed the valley and mapped out the city and where the temple should go. It was cool so see what came of their vision for the city.

If you look close you can see the SLC temple. I wish Utah would have made a rule that nothing could be built bigger than the temple for 5 square miles around it. I hate all those ulgy buildings that block the temple. It is WAY prettier and cooler than any of those dumb buildings.

We DID it!

In the olden days, this week would have marked my passage back into society because Kaci is offically weaned! That's right, I'm free, free, free! It wasn't even hard. It actually happened on accident becasue I forgot to nurse her one day and then I forgot again a couple days later... so I figured there was no need to continue if I could just forget and she didn't care! I made it 11 months and 2 weeks nursing the lil one! Now she drinks out of a sippy cup and a bottle. She only gets the bottle for two more weeks and then I'm taking that away too. I figure if I'm supposed to nurse til she is one, it's ok for her to have the bottle til she's one, so long as it's milk in it and not juice (correct me if I'm wrong Victoria). Anyhow, I just wanted to parade the fact that I am free! (well free-er than I was a couple weeks ago... Kaci can actually be babysat now and me not worry that I'm starving her to death!!)

feeding mom
Funny girl. She was feeding me the potatoes and then she decided she wanted them. She'd laugh when I'd say "HEY!" Then, she'd feed me the potatoes out of her mouth. Too funny!
Peek a boo Mommy!
Eat your heart out Hawaiians!
Ok, can I just say I LOVE going to the grocery store here! Everything is so CHEAP! Today we rode our bikes to the Sunflower Farmers Market and came home with a ton of yummy produce. How much would you guess I paid for all this? Nope, you over priced it! I only paid 13 dollars and 12 cents! That's right! I got: (straight off my receipt!)
3 nectarines for $.87
5 ears of corn for $1.00
2 organic celery hearts for $3.00
1 lb of tomatos for $.92
3.60 lbs of apples for $3.53
3 whole cantalopes for $1.00
4 grapefruits for $.69
1 lb of strawberries for $.99
1 champagne mango for $.50
totaling $13.12
Gardening is FUN to do!
Grandpa!!
Grandpa you have SAND in your ear! Take my advice and wash that stuff out!!
Anna has picked up a few things from her Daddy Doctor and rightly diagnosed Grandpa with having rocks in his head! Papa Call has had an ear ache ever since he came home from Hawaii. Figuring it to be water, I tried to help him out by pouring alcohol in it, but it didn't do much. Then Doctor Steve-o looked in it and found he had a handful of sand (not exaggerating) in his ear. So, he set out to wash it out. Pretty funny! We all had a good time looking in his ear and laughing about all the sand. I had never looked in someones ear before. It's cool!
