Fools in DC

This morning I put red food coloring under Kaci's cereal so that her milk would turn pink when I poured it on. She thought it was hilarious! Happy April Fools Day!

Yesterday should have been April Fools because we felt like fools. I went with the W. Family to DC to go to the Zoo. We drove their big new Gus Bus (Suburban). H. W. had a dream once that she had to drive a submarine because they didn't make a car big enough for 5 kids. Well, her dream came true yesterday. We felt like we were driving a submarine in China Town with the crowds of people there. The Zoo and surrounding 3 miles were packed solid with cars and people, we couldn't find a parking spot or even a big enough area to do a U turn. So we drove to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. After 5 hours in the Gus Bus (it only takes 2 hrs to get to DC), we found some parking. All in all it was a fun trip, how could going to DC with 6 kids (ages 1-13) not be FUN? We rode the metro, played on the National Mall, and got completely worn out. We hoped to be home by 5, we got home at 9:30! What a day!

Kaci and Z. on the blue "train" to the national mall. Aren't these two adorable together. They can't get enough of each other!
Z. and Kaci like to play chase and tackle. These two are such a site together. A red head and toe head, people made comments all day!
Check out that cart wheel. A full leg extension on it now! She's really getting the hang of it! Z. is rolling down the hill in the background. What a joy. I hope she remembers doing cartwheels on the National Mall.
